It is an
Island country in the Caribbean Sea. Havana is the largest city in Cuba and the
country’s capital.
The Cuban ethnic groups are 65.1% White, 10.1% African, 24.8% Mulatto and
Mestizo.
The local climate is tropical. The most important mineral resource is nickel,
of which Cuba has the world’s second largest reserves.
GOVERNMENT:
The constitution of 1946, which defined Cuba as a socialist republic, was
replaced by the Constitution of 1992, which is “guided by the ideas of José
Martí and the political and social ideas of Marx, Engels and Lenin. Cuba is
popular democratic country.
TOURISM:
Cuba is a good destination because of its beaches and sun but it also has
significant historical and cultural sites, ecological and natural landscapes.
The famous landmarks are Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Isla de la Juventud,
Revolution Square and other sites.
CUBAN CUISINE:
Cuban cuisine is a fusion of Spanish, African and Caribbean cuisine. Cuban
recipes share spices and techniques with Spanish and African cooking, with some
Caribbean influence in spice and flavor. Typical meals consist of rice and
beans, cooked together or apart. When cooked together the recipe is called
either “Congri” or “Moros y cristianos” (black beans and rice). Rice and beans
are a culinary element found throughout Cuba, although it varies by region.
MUSIC:
Cuban music is very rich and is the most common known expression of culture.
The central form of this music is Cuban Son, which has been the basis of many
other musical styles like salsa, rumba and mambo and an upbeat derivation of
the rumba, the cha-cha-cha.
UNIVERSITY OF HABANA:
The Univesity of Habana is a public university located in
the country´s capital of Cuba.
University of Habana offer careers of Social Science. This
careers as:

Masters:
Social Science, Constitutional and administrative law, public
international law, labor law and social security, interdisciplinary studies on
Latin America, Cuba and the Caribbean, political and social studies, contemporary
history and international relations and sociology.
I want study in this university because I like the government
of this island. Therefore I think that the opportunity of study the master in
political and social studies is a good experience for my training.
Foreign citizens permanently resident
in the country can enter the higher education institutions according to the
same laws approved for Cuban citizens.
Foreign citizens entering the higher
education institutions as agreed in the agreements signed and ratified by the
governments of their respective countries.
